Australia’s Got Talent enjoys season high

Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent had a strong night of viewing as contestants moved into the semi-finals, while Ten’s Bondi Rescue finished its run on a ratings high.  

Australia's Got Talent, MumbrellaWhile Seven News was the most-watched show for Tuesday with an average audience of 1.536m, it was closely followed by Australia’s Got Talent with 1.509m in the 7:30-9pm slot – slightly higher than the 1.493m it premiered with.

The talent show beat Ten’s Masterchef which attracted 1.464m, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data in the main metro markets.

But Masterchef won its time slot between 7:30 to 8pm, and it was also the most-watched show among 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

The finale of Bondi Rescue saw 1.328m tune in, coming second to Masterchef among 16-39 year olds. It was the highest audience share for the reality show which dropped below the one million mark in some episodes during the series.

Meanwhile, Nine’s Top Gear saw a slight ratings rise from last week, up from 1.233m to 1.279m. It came second to Masterchef among 18-39s and 25-54s, and third among 16-39s.

At the ABC, the broadcast of the Treasurer’s Budget Speech saw 677,000 viewers tune in.
