Award-winning British PR agency Frank opens Aussie outpost

One of Britain’s best known consumer PR firms has opened its doors in Sydney. Frank PR – which was bought by Australian holding company Photon Group towards the end of 2007 – will share space with sister agency Naked Communications in Foveaux Street.

Frank will be headed by Aussie Myf McGregor, who spent the last two and a half years in Frank’s London office. She said: “The Frank take on PR has worked wonders for consumer brands in the UK and I will be bringing this approach back home with me.”

And Frank’s arrival will trigger some nervousness from rival agencies with big consumer clients. The former Marketing magazine PR Agency of the Year’s UK clients include Virgin, Blackberry, Nestle, Budweiser, Pepsi and Footlocker, and local agencies will fear that the award-winning agency will look to get its hands on some of those contracts in Australia.

Frank founder Graham Goodkind said: “Australia represents a really exciting market in public relations. We believe PR as a discipline there is nearing a tippping point in consumer marketing terms.”
