Baby Bunting assigns JWT Melbourne to creative account

Baby goods retailer Baby Bunting has appointed JWT Melbourne and its in-house creative agency Girl as its creative agency of record.

The news comes one month after WPP announced the merger between JWT and Wunderman to form Wunderman Thompson.

JWT has won the creative account for Baby Bunting

Michael Godwin, managing director at JWT Melbourne, said news of the appointment was a bundle of joy.

“While it’s so tempting to frame this news as us being entrusted with a new bundle of joy; an exciting new arrival for the J. Walter Thompson family, etc, I’ll resist and simply say that we’re extremely excited to be partnering the team at Baby Bunting on the next chapter of their brand journey, and are thankful for being presented with this opportunity,” he said.

Godwin said Baby Bunting has ambitions to become even more valued and trusted with mothers and fathers, by “supporting them through a time of life that’s both precious and overwhelming.

“The brand is uniquely qualified to do so, and they join us at a time when our capabilities across important disciplines such as CRM and social are stronger than they’ve ever been, following some recent senior appointments,” he said.

Sue Dawson, general manager of marketing at Baby Bunting, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with J Walter Thompson and Girl who have extensive experience in partnering with retail brands to realise their potential through insightful strategy, timeless brand design and highly effective campaign platforms.”
