The Bachelor tops key demographics and pulls 736,000 Thursday metro viewers

Ten’s reality television program The Bachelor was the most watched non-news program of Thursday evening, managing a metro audience of 736,000.

The program, placed sixth on the ratings leaderboard, topped the key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Nationally, including both regional and metro affiliates, The Bachelor attracted 968,000 national viewers.

Competing against The Bachelor was Seven’s Make You Laugh Out Loud which pulled in 449,000 metro viewers ahead of Nine’s Thursday night NRL.

Nationally, Make You Laugh Out Loud saw 757,000 tune in and was beaten by NRL’s 835,000 national audience.

The NRL only aired in Sydney and Brisbane attracting an audience of 508,000 as the Eels beat the Broncos.

In news, Nine News at 6.30 was the most watched program for the night with 979,000 metro viewers, beating Seven New/Today Tonight’s 904,000.

At 6pm, Nine News saw 952,000 tune in ahead of Seven News’ 932,000.

Nine took home a win for the evening with an overall audience share of 24.4% ahead of Seven’s 15.6% and Ten’s 13.6% share.

Meanwhile ABC managed a share of 10% while SBS attracted 5.3% of the audience.
