Balding men share their ‘turning points’ in latest campaign for Ashley & Martin
Medical hair centre Ashley & Martin has launched a new campaign which features balding men talking about their “turning point” when seeking help for their balding hair.
Created by &Partners, the campaign features six different spots with Australians sharing why they decided to use Ashley & Martin.
The ads feature couples talking about the “turning point” in seeking professional help including seeing themselves on CCTV footage, a photo posted online, a Skype call and family members pointing out thinning hair.
Richard Bond, CEO at Ashley & Martin, said in a statement: “We talk to over 10,000 patients every year, and time after time our consultants hear the same thing.
“There’s nearly always a key moment when the extent of their thinning hair hits them hard and they decide to do something about it.
“What we love about this idea is it’s relatable. It normalises an issue guys often find confronting and offers hope by way of our 98% success rate.”

The idea is fine but this acting is *really* hard to watch

Love it! It’s so true – we had to tell my dad outright that he was going bald…

So body shaming men who have hair loss, and using this in advertising as a “turning point” that they should see a doctor. That is ok?
Imagine if that turning point was a boyfriend pointing out that his girlfriend was overweight, and that she should see a doctor. That wouldn’t be cceptable would it?

I agree Pete this is shaming men into changing their looks.
