Banner ads and the wide blue yonder
Yesterday’s launch of Yahoo’s search marketing push towards small businesses saw the online firm bring out the big guns.
Among them was entrepeneur Tim Pethick – the man originally behind Nudie juice and more recently Sultry Sally chips.
Extolling the virtues of paid search, he did wander of the script slightly when he volunteered: “I’ve never clicked on a banner ad in my life, by the way.”
Meanwhile Jaye Radisich, CEO of the Council of Small Businesses of Australia had even harsher words: “The baby boomers will eventually move on to the wide blue yonder… it’s the cycle of life, folks.”
