Barnaby Joyce and Vikki Campion sign interview deal with Seven’s Sunday Night
Ex-deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce and partner Vikki Campion have signed a deal with Seven for an exclusive interview on its Sunday Night program.
Mumbrella understands the couple’s six-week old baby, Sebastian Joyce, will also appear on the program.
According to The Weekend Australian, who first reported the story, Seven are paying the couple $150,000 for the interview. It reported the amount was settled directly with the pair after Sunday Night won the bidding war against Nine’s 60 Minutes.
The interview will be conducted by senior Sunday Night reporter Alex Cullen, who has been working for several months to secure the deal, according to The Weekend Australian.
Seven would not disclose the financial details of the deal to Mumbrella.
The couple were plunged into a media frenzy earlier this year, after it was revealed Joyce had fathered a child with Campion, who was once employed as one of his staff members.
After the intense media coverage following Joyce’s resignation as deputy Prime Minister, the couple have managed to keep their new family relatively private.
No interview i s worth that amount of money. Especially when privacy was called for by the couple. I feel for his ex wife and children.

The old Beetrooter screamed for privacy as this was a “personal matter” and now is profiting from it.
The $150k may come in handy when his electorate dump him next election

So Barnaby is getting paid to talk about how he got his girlfriend paid so he could get laid and the Nationals and the Liberals are AOK with it?

Should a sitting deputy PM be getting paid for doing an interview?

1. He asked us to respect their privacy. I will comply. Because there is no way I will watch this shit. Urge your friends and compatriots to also not watch in order to respect their privacy.
2. No wonder he is in favour of tax cuts – he’ll lose around $75k at the current rates.

SMH is reporting the $150k is being paid into a family trust fund set-up for the child, so ol’ Barnaby isn’t going to be losing any of it to tax.
