Bashful unveils first work for Trade Secret
Trade Secret has launched a new series of ads and positioning for the first time since 2009 around its 60 per cent off designer brands offer.
The agency behind the ads was Bashful, which won the account after a four-way pitch.
Trade Secret marketing manager, Tessa Buenen said: “Our aim is to distinguish ourselves from other retailers as the place to get current season, genuine designer labels at up to 60% off other stores prices. The campaign truly defines our key offering and educates consumers on how Trade Secret delivers great brands at low prices everyday. Bashful’s approach has helped us achieve this by bringing to life the bragging rights our consumers feel in an entertaining and engaging way.”

Eh… The dinner party one was alright, but nothing really leapt out at me from any of them.

I thought these could have been done a lot better… the talent was meh and the ads weren’t witty. Looks like a good agency idea dumbed down by the client to me.

Would be much better if the person with the dirty secret blurted theirs out first then the TS person very awkwardly shared their more socially acceptable secret of saving with them.

@Anonymous i totally agree……after the banal secret is revealed of where you buy your cheap clothes the other party would not be inclined to reveal their big, dirty secret.
client may have had a hand in not playing second fiddle to the gag, or being “awkwardly shared”
