Basil Zempilas to join 6PR breakfast
The Fairfax Radio Network’s Perth station 6PR will add Seven Network broadcaster Basil Zempilas to the breakfast team with Steve Mills in 2014.

Perth’s Radio 6PR today announced that Steve Mills will be joined on its Breakfast program by Seven Network broadcaster Basil Zempilas in 2014.
Zempilas is one of Perth’s best known and most accomplished broadcasters. He has been reporting and presenting sport on Channel 7 for 20 years and is part of the Seven Network’s AFL commentary team. Locally, Zempilas is the host of Channel 7’s much-loved charity fundraiser Telethon.
6PR General Manager Martin Boylen said he was delighted to have Zempilas rejoin 6PR after a stint in FM radio.
“Basil has a strong background in breakfast radio in Perth and we think he and Steve Mills will hit the ground running in 2014. Basil has an extremely positive and upbeat personality and we’re confident he’ll gel with Steve very well,” he said.Zempilas said he was very much looking forward to returning to talk radio at 6PR.
“It’s the right time and 6PR is the right place. It’s my style of radio and Steve Mills is my sort of guy. I can’t wait to get back on air at 6PR, and even more, I can’t wait to be on air with Millsy,” he said.
Breakfast with Steve Mills and Basil Zempilas commences on the Australia Day holiday, January 27th 2014.
