Bathurst 1000 ‘most-watched Supercars race ever’ on Fox Sports

Last weekend’s Bathurst 1000 race was the strongest-performing Supercars race yet for Fox Sports – with audience figures up 39% on last year’s ratings, according to the channel.

FOX SPORTS unrivalled Supercars coverage hit full speed this weekend with the Bathurst 1000 becoming the most watched race on FOX SPORTS with an average audience of 332,000 tuning in tosee Will Davison claim victory on the mountain.

Peaking at 5.33pm with 411,000 viewers, yesterday’s drama fuelled finish helped drive FOX SPORTS 506 to its biggest share (10.53%) to mark the best day for a FOX SPORTS channel in 2016 and the 14th best of all time.

In addition, FOX SPORTS 506 was the number 1 channel on Foxtel (Week 41) with a share of 2.61%, with the dedicated Bathurst Channel that ran from Monday to Sunday (Week 41 & 42) achieving a share of 4.10%.

The weekend’s action has driven FOX SPORTS’ Supercars live racing up a massive 39% on last year’s ratings, with an average audience of 139,000 fans tuning in to FOX SPORTS’ unprecedented coverage.

Australia’s number 1 multi-sports website, foxsports.com.au, was the online destination for motorsport fans across the Great Race with 866,458 fans sourcing news, videos and live updates acrossSunday, doubling last year’s numbers.

With one of the closest finishes in history, yesterday’s race helped drive a record 4.1 million daily impressions (up 78.26% on 2015) and 370,000 video views (up 60.87% on 2015) online and via the FOX SPORTS App.

In addition, the FOX SPORTS online Race Centre received close to two million page views across mobile, desktop and app platforms smashing the previous record by more than double.

The world first Fox Vision App, launched for Bathurst, and enabling fans to follow the top 10 drivers around the Mountain in real-time through augmented reality, was the number 1 downloaded free sports App in the App Store across the weekend.
