Bauer Media launches female-centric car insurance brand Stella
Bauer Media has entered into a partnership to launch a female-centric car insurance brand, making a play for the $10.5bn automotive insurance market.
Stella will be underwritten by QBE and sees the publisher partner with Freedom Group, Viper Capital and Envest.
Bauer Media is now under the control of private equity group Mercury Capital with a name change and rebrand imminent for the magazine business as it has separated from its German parent company.
Can’t publish. Can insure.
OMG how bad is that jingle? It’s cringeworthy.
Couldn’t get a female director or DOP?
This seems a little patronising… Does this really need to be a gendered product?
This makes no real sense, why do you need a gender based car insurance company? And isn’t this blatantly discriminatory?
It’s no secret that women already get a better deal with car insurance, often given lower premiums and excess’ because they are safer, smarter drivers.
So why the need for a female only insurance company? Seems to defy all logic, but then again, appears perfectly in line with a company who is happy to lay off vast numbers of employees without telling staff and who still have a management style, structure and governance system based on 1970’s publishing…
