Ged Bulmer joins Bauer Trader Media as managing editor of Motoring

Experienced motoring editor Ged Bulmer will join Bauer Trader Media as managing editor of Motoring.

The announcement:

Bauer Trader Media today announced the appointment of highly-respected motoring and publishing expert Ged Bulmer to the position of Managing Editor, Motoring.

In his new role Mr Bulmer will have editorial oversight across a range of Bauer Trader Media titles, including magazines currently based in Sydney that are relocating to the company’s head offices in Oakleigh (Melbourne), Victoria.

A former editor of Wheels, Motor and Overlander magazines, Mr Bulmer was also managing editor of News Limited’s Carsguide motoring supplement and website from 2010 to 2012.

Most recently he has run his own media company specialising in automotive matters. “We’re thrilled to have a journalist and editor of Ged’s stature joining our team,” said Bauer Trader Media CEO Keith Falconer. “He brings a vast amount of publishing expertise to our business and is well known and widely respected throughout the automotive industry. His skill set is a perfect fit for the expansion plans we have for the Bauer Trader Media group.”

Mr Bulmer said he was looking forward to joining Bauer Trader Media at a time of rapid expansion of its print and digital businesses.

“I’m excited to be back working with what is undoubtedly Australia’s largest and strongest stable of automotive titles. These magazines are close to my heart and they have very exciting futures in both the print and digital worlds,” he said.

In a typical month, Bauer motoring group titles will reach 1.2 million* Australians, unduplicated. In a year, the group will reach 32%** of all car enthusiasts and 38%** of all male car enthusiasts.

The Bauer motoring group – including motoring, trucking, 4WD and bike titles – sells on average 250,000 copies each month and well over two million per year.
