BBC News livestream now available in Australia

For the first time, UK news giant BBC will be available to stream in Australia through its app or online.

Audiences will be able to follow live coverage of BBC News via thewatch livebutton on BBC.com and in thelivetab on the BBC app any time of the day.

We are thrilled to be offering our world-leading impartial, accurate and trusted BBC News channel to all Australians for free and compatibly with their digital habits,” BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand general manager, Fiona Lang, said

“We look forward to welcoming new audiences and serving existing viewers with live coverage from the biggest news stories in the world, as well as more gems from the channel’s wide-ranging content.”

The BBC has been bringing viewers enhanced coverage of the upcoming US election and the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

To complement the coverage of the games, the BBC’s technology and travel programme TechXplore examines how cutting-edge technology and innovations influence how athletes train and compete and how the games are broadcast and experienced by viewers globally.

Also available to watch online or via the app is HARDtalk, an interview programme that asks the tough questions to the people who shape the international agenda and uncovers the full stories behind the big headlines.

The BBC News channel reaches over 450 million homes worldwide and broadcasts in more than 200 countries, making it one of the most widely viewed news networks globally.
