BCM keeps Queensland University of Technology account after tender process

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has retained its creative agency of record BCM following a recent tender process.

Janne Rayner, QUT’s director of marketing and communications said despite the “dozens” of responses from the tender, BCM offered an integrated approach.

QUT spends between $3m and $6m

“They amply demonstrated and had the requisite deep knowledge and expertise across the broad range of communication disciplines,” she said.

BCM will now act as QUT’s brand development, creative, digital, content, media strategy and planning agency of record.

Kevin Moreland, BCM’s managing director, said in a statement: “We took nothing for granted in the pitch process and feel very privileged that QUT has elected to continue its association with us.

“QUT is an iconic brand, and, because of that, we knew the account would be hotly contested.”

The retained account comes three months after the former CEO of WPP-owned created agency Y&R, Phil McDonald, became a partner of the Brisbane-based agency.

BCM’s clients include Energy Super, Sunny Queen and CitySmart.
