Beauty and the Geek finale wins Thursday night with 1.3m

The finale of Beauty and the Geek Australia, which saw Sarah and Lachlan win the make-over contest, won Thursday night’s ratings for Seven.

The program pulled in an audience of 1.253m across the five city metro according to OzTam.

Coded across two shows, the first episode came third in the ratings with 1.075m. Making Seven the clear winner for the night, Seven News came second with 1.121m and Today Tonight came fourth with 992,000.

The ABC’s drama series The Slap also came to a close on Thursday night, coming eighth overall and with 831,000.

The second episode of Seven’s Happy Endings – which did not benefit from airing after the The X Factor finale, as it did on Tuesday –  received 704,000 and came third to The Slap and Nine’s Unforgettable.

The premiere of SBS’s The Family, at 8.30pm, documenting the life of an ordinary Australian family, the Cardamones, failed to get in the top 50.

Ten’s top show was Recruits: Paramedics, which ranked 17th with 640,000.
