Solstice Media appoints Dentsu exec as chief financial and commercial officer
Solstice Media has appointed Heath Richards as its chief financial and commercial officer.
Solstice is the publisher of multiple state-based titles, such as SA Life, In Daily, and City Mag, as well as national titles The New Daily, and Australian Traveller.
Richards comes from Dentsu, where he spent four-and-a-half years, most recently as the company’s Australian operations and transformation director. Prior to this, he worked as the head of commercial at retailer Cotton On, and in the same role at Target.
Solstice Media managing director Paul Hamra said in a media release that Richards’ appointment marks “an important step in building a unified national business model”.

“Heath brings deep commercial and financial experience, along with a sharp understanding of how to drive sustainable growth in modern media businesses,” Hamra said.
“As Solstice continues to expand its national reach while investing in local journalism and audiences, Heath’s leadership will be invaluable in shaping a strong, agile organisation.”
Richards said he is “looking forward to helping drive its strategic and commercial ambitions as the business continues to evolve nationally.”
His appointment is effectively immediately, and he will work out of the company’s Adelaide office.
