Beauty and the Geek makeovers watched by 846,000

Seven’s Beauty and the Geek last night brought back former contestants to transform them from “geek to gorgeous” and won viewers once again gave the geeks full makeovers in front of a metro audience of 846,000 according to OzTam.

Preliminary overnight ratings show Beauty and the Geek as sixth for the night and the number one program in people 25-54.

Meanwhile 449,000 metro viewers tuned in for the uncomfortable viewing of gritty Aboriginal drama Redfern Now on ABC1.

Ten’s Law and Order was the strongest performer for the network with an average 648,000 viewers ranking 10th in people  25-54 and in all programs.

Jamie’s 15 minute meals, also on Ten, averaged 500,000 viewers while repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory averaged 614,000 and 553,000 for Channel Nine.

Nine News was the top program of the night for the second night in a row, averaging 1.14m metro viewers. A Current Affair was the second strongest performer for the network followed by evening gameshow Hot Seat, which averaged 638,000. Meanwhile Seven’s game show Million Dollar Minute averaged 427,000.

Sunrise took the lead in the morning TV ratings with an average 360,000 viewers for Seven, while Nine’s Today rated 351,000. Ten’s new breakfast program Wake Up averaged 35,000 and the early portion had 23,000.

Ten’s mid-morning panel show Studio 10 averaged 34,000 while Seven’s The Morning Show had 180,000 and Nine’s Mornings averaged 134,000.
