Beerenberg release special edition Ashes-themed tomato sauce

Ashes tomato sauceAdelaide-based jam, condiment and sauce producers Beerenberg have produced a special limited edition tomato sauce to celebrate Australia winning the Ashes.

The announcement:

On our National Day there’s probably nothing more typically Australian than a barbecue with family and friends and a game of backyard cricket.

This year, enhance your patriotism by making sure the tomato sauce at your Australia Day barbecue is locally made by one of Australia’s oldest family-owned jam, condiment and sauce producers, Adelaide-based Beerenberg.

Still basking in our recent Ashes win, the Adelaide Hills company has produced a special limited edition tomato sauce to celebrate.

Beerenberg Managing Director Anthony Paech said the Ashes win is another reason to be proud as a nation.

“But even during test losses, a pie or sausage with a generous dollop of this sauce kept morale soaring,’’ he said.

The Ashes 2013 tomato sauce is available at all Foodland supermarkets in South Australia and selected independent stores in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Run by the sixth generation of the Paech family in Australia, last year Beerenberg radically changed its labels for the first time in 40 years to help it stand out on shelves increasingly crowded with multi-national and imported brands.

The new look also reflects Beerenberg’s simple goal of bringing “the true taste of the farm to the world” and its personal approach to creating and cooking every product.

“There is a warmth and accessibility around the Beerenberg brand that makes us different to so many other products, and we think that’s special in a market that’s becoming more and more crowded by the big players,” Mr Paech said.

From humble beginnings in the Adelaide Hills to one of Australia’s most loved producers, Beerenberg now offers more than 65 products and exports to 25 countries around the world.
