Beetlejuice Beetlejuice knocks Deadpool & Wolverine from top of Aussie Box Office

After a six-week run at the top of the Australian Box Office, Deadpool & Wolverine has finally been dethroned by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which enjoyed a huge opening weekend.

The sequel to the 1988 film brought in $3.81 million in its opening week, while Deadpool & Wolverine took $1.18 million to bring its overall local earnings to $63.42 million. according to HOYTS. It is now the ninth highest grossing movie in Australia of all time, moving ahead of Avengers: Infinity War and sitting just behind the 2019 live action version of The Lion King.

Indian Tamil-language movie, GOAT took in $958,000 in its opening weekend, while Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us added another $761,000 to take its total past $21 million.

Alien: Romulus, took in $596,000 to bring its box office to $9 million, while Thelma opened with $296,000.

Blink Twice staring Channing Tatum took $283,000, while Despicable Me 4 and Inside Out 2 took another $166,000 and $160,000, respectively.

Indian title Bibi Rajni took another $134,000 in its second weekend of release to bring its box office to $326,000.
