Being Lara Bingle finds its feet with 768,000 viewers
Fly-on-the-wall documentary Being Lara Bingle claimed ratings of 768,000 last night, according to Network Ten, a potential sign that the show has found its footing.
The Ten show about blonde model and socialite Lara Bingle, which debuted mid-June with ratings of 925,000, has slid since, down to its lowest point of 650,000 mid-July.
But the program, which aired last night at 8pm, has staged something of a recovery to move back passed 700,000 after a period of decline.
Last night’s rating was an increase of 12% on last week, peaking at 932,000.
MasterChef, which aired before Bingle at 7pm, won the night with 1.54m, and topped every age demographic.
MasterChef won one of seven shows to eclipse 1m viewers. Winners & Losers on Seven was the only other non-news show to pass 1m.
The US version of song contest The Voice has recovered too for Nine, up from 484,000 on Monday night, to 544,000 last night.
The top show on SBS was a repeat of Who Do You Think You Are?, which rated with 251,000.
In the battle of breakfast TV, Seven’s Sunrise beat Today, with 374,000 compared to 323,000.

7-800k really should be seen as a decent amount these days.

Tom – don’t be fooled. 700,000 audience for Lara Bingle is not good enough and while it may be stable it is a small audience compared with what is on offer elsewhere !

Agreed, but with a 1.5m lead in, not so good.

It’s hard to believe there are that many morons out there.

How is this seen as good? It had a lead in from Masterchef’s penultimate episode. I wouldn’t be cheering about it. However I agree with Tom to some degree. TV audiences are down across the board, aren’t they? So maybe Lara is doing as well as she could ever have expected to do.

Sorry George, not sure I agree. I think Tom is right. On 9 or 7 it’s not good enough but on Ten I think they’d be happy, particularly as it does well in the target demos. All that said, without MChef next week I think it will be back under 700 which ain’t good enough.

why the hang up on lead-ins?
in this age of 2 second attention spans it counts for far less than it used to
this is a good result

Maybe viewers have decided Being Lara Bingle is the lesser of two evils when compared with The Shire.
