Bellamy Hayden launches media buying operation Slingshot

After announcing a new PR arm, Chatterbox, comms strategy outfit Bellamy Hayden has today unveiled its move into media buying – Slingshot.  

Although Mumbrella revealed at the start of the year that the Photon-owned company was planning a foray into media buying, the form it would take was unknown.

But the company has acquired Sydney agency One Source to launch the new venture, the Australian Financial Review reports today. Bellamy Hayden’s MD Simon Rutherford will be Slingshot’s CEO, reports the paper.

Rutherford said that the Slingshot’s target would be those with a $1-7m ad spend, and that the offer would be focused on delivering cross media and integrated campaigns rather than price negotiation.
