Benji Marshall joins Triple M Footy’s commentary line up

SCA’s Triple M Footy has returned for the 2021 season, with Benji Marshall added to the commentary line up and Canadian Club & Dry as a new sponsor.

The announcement:

Last week Triple M Footy returned with its contemporary and new footy experts joining the line-up for the 2021 season.

A key pillar to the brand’s DNA, Triple M has produced an unrivalled sport offering for more than 25 years, currently with over 15 sports programs across the nation and a top tier line up of over 60 sporting legends and industry experts. Triple M’s Rush Hour drive program and weekend sports show offering across the country make Triple M the only place for everything sport.

For the 2021 NRL season, Triple M will cover all key games including the State of Origin series and the Grand Final planned for October 3. Triple M Rocks NRL is the weekend’s ultimate radio show with the boys ripping into the latest stories facing the sport. Ryan Girdler, Wendell Sailor, Peter ‘Sterlo’ Sterling, James Hooper and Tony Squires cover the lead up to Saturday arvo footy followed by Gordan Tallis, Paul Kent, Ryan Girdler and Anthony Maroon who tackle the hardest hitting NRL radio show on Sundays.

Newcastle’s 102.9 Triple M brings Jim Callinan home to Newy as he joins Michael ‘Hages’ Hagan and Marc ‘MG’ Glanville for every Newcastle Knights home game of the season, which can be heard live and free across the Hunter region and via the LiSTNR app.

Another new addition to the Triple M NRL commentary line up this year is South Sydney Rabbitohs halfback, Benji Marshall, who says he’s looking forward to joining the Triple M family, “When you get a bit older, you have to start finding things to do after footy and to be a part of the Triple M team is a privilege for me.

“I am going to call the game as I see it, and I am not going to be stripping shreds off anyone unless it’s any of the forwards I don’t like!” Marshall said.

Each weekday, Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin and Mark ‘MG’ Geyer are just some of the game’s experts who deliver the ultimate sports programs on local Triple M stations. Breaking down the latest in news and talking to leading names in the industry, listeners get an insider’s view into the world of NRL, all available on the Triple M Network and the brand new LiSTNR app.

SCA Head of Sports Content, Ewan Giles, said: “Triple M is incredibly lucky to have the best minds in footy located all across Australia, with our NRL call teams stacked with big names and big opinions.

“We pride ourselves in developing the next generation of talent, with players recently out of the game, such as Ben Hannant, along with those still playing their trade at the highest level, like Benji Marshall.”

Triple M Footy also continues its partnerships NRL clubs including, West Tigers, St George Illawarra Dragons and the Cronulla Sharks.

Providing meaningful and effective content integration, supplemented by commercial activity ensuring a high frequency of message with our nationally engaged audience, Canadian Club & Dry is the latest addition to a list of partners including, McDonalds, Rheem Hot water, CBUS Super and Mitsubishi.

SCA National Head of Sport and Partnerships, Trevor Crook, said: “The long term nature of our many partners speaks to the ROI of our offering. Quite simply, Triple M Footy provides all partners with an effective, engaging and truly national seven month communication platform, at scale.”

Triple M Footy coverage and programs are available to listen on the Triple M Network and free to stream via the LiSTNR app.
