Beware – here lies the haunted grave of investigative journalism
Happily it’s not too late to celebrate the brilliant journalism of The Daily Telegraph’s intrepid ghosthunter Amy Dale.
Saturday’s paper dedicated page 15 (and a picture byline just to demonstrate the size of the scoop) to the journo’s hunch that her cat thinks her house is haunted.
Under the headline “My old cat is spooked – I’m living in haunted house”, Dale reports on the mounting evidence, inspired by a story she’s been covering on spooky photos.
She had a power cut. And saw a spider. And her cat is keeping his distance from her.
The article is in the paper’s news section.
This article was a farce. At a time where journalism should really be pulling out and showing it has modern-day relevance and integrity, we get this.

The Daily Telegraph at its best.
She saw a spider and her cat is keeping his distance from her. How supernatural.

I liked it! I thought it was just a bit of lighthearted fun.

This would be as a result of the ‘story’ about the two supposed ghost children photographed in a cemetery? Even the daftest journo would be able to see that those ‘ghost children’ were two young lads wearing t-shirts and were very much corporeal. I don’t think Amy’s cat should be the one named ‘Dill-y’.
