The announcement:
Growing marketing and communications agency Biased has expanded its team with the addition of Andrew Harrington as head of content & communications.
Founded by respected agency and cultural professional Biarta Parnham in 2020, Biased is embarking on a growth trajectory as it enters its third year in business, with Andrew the first of a range of expected appointments for the Surry Hills-based agency.
Andrew joins Biased in a senior leadership role after five years working with leading built environment communications consultancy Polymer Studios.
With extensive experience across the property, placemaking and government sectors, Andrew will support Biased’s growing portfolio of food & beverage, placemaking, and arts & culture clients.
Well immersed in Sydney’s diverse food and cultural scene, courtesy of his management experience as a board member and director at Australia’s first social enterprise bakery, The Bread & Butter Project, Andrew will be working across key Biased clients including Landcom and Lotus Dining Group.
Formerly national communications manager for leading Australian real estate brand Raine & Horne, and with consultant and freelance experience across a range of major property and placemaking clients, including Aqualand, Cbus Property and Greenland Australia, Andrew will support Biased’s marketing and PR initiatives as the company seeks to increase its client base.
One such initiative is the WEST Supper Club, an intimate monthly dinner series which invites tastemakers to visit venues across Western Sydney, showcasing unique culinary experiences.
Designed by Dean Boone, director, The WEST Journal, and Biarta Parnham, Founder & Managing Director of Biased, the events shine a light on some of the most exciting and innovative venues across Greater Western Sydney and regional New South Wales.
With upcoming offerings such as this complementing the company’s exciting clients, Andrew will be a valuable addition to the Biased team, says Biarta.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Andrew onboard, with his extensive experience in marketing and communications, along with a deep passion for food, arts and placemaking,” said Biarta.
“This marks an exciting new chapter at Biased as we expand our team with Andrew’s calibre of talent, which will not only help us to set an even higher benchmark and provide an enhanced level of service to our existing clients, but will allow us to further grow our portfolio.
“Core to the values of Biased is creating storytelling opportunities for our clients to stand up and stand out, and we know that Andrew shares these values of authenticity.”
Commenting on the new role, Andrew confirmed his commitment to driving the Biased business forward.
“I’m all about improving corporate communications and delivering engaging and on-message content, whether that’s in a media release or a strategic news story, through engaging website content, or in strategic comms on behalf of our clients,” he said.
“I’m really excited to be joining Biased at such an important time in the company’s growth, and I can’t wait to get started and help our clients tell their stories.”
