The Big Bang Theory season premiere wins the night

Nine’s The Big Bang Theory was the most watched non-news program of the evening, pulling 854,000 viewers to the first episode of season 10.

The new episode, which saw Leonard and Penny attempt a formal wedding ceremony, was in the top three shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39s, 18-49s, 25-54s).TV ratings - Big Bang Theory

Also in the 7:30pm slot, Ten’s The Bachelorette climbed in the ratings, with 613,000 viewers tuning in to the program.

While Nine was well ahead in the 7:30pm slot, the program pulled 25,000 more viewers than last Thursday.

The finale of Ten’s Gogglebox won the later time slot, with 714,000 viewers watching the program, which aired at 8:40pm.

The program was most watched across the 16-39s, and 18-49s. The latest series marked the biggest audience for the program across the four seasons.

Nine’s Better Late Than Never was down from premiere night, achieveing 539,000 viewers. Last Thursday’s premiere pulled 661,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s Make You Laugh Out Loud lost viewers to a repeat episode of the Big Bang Theory, which pulled 693,000 viewers in its 8:30pm slot.

Make You Laugh Out Loud was watched by 497,00 viewers, a loss of 129,000 from last Thursday.

The ABC’s Silvia’s Italian Table also lost viewers, with 412,000 viewers tuning in at 8:00pm, down from last week’s 461,000.

In news, Seven won the night, with 936,000 viewers in the 6:00pm slot, at 822,000 in the 6:30pm.

Nine News pulled an audience of 803,000 while Nine News 6:30 pulled 804,000 viewers.

Seven won the audience share for Thursday at 27.9%, a little ahead of Nine at 27.1%. Ten had an audience share of 21.5%, and the ABC’s share was 16.7%.
