Biggest Loser is Ten’s only winner
Ten’s problems in finding a Wednesday schedule that sticks continued last night, with just one show – The Biggest Loser – in the top 15 most watched programmes.
The night, which saw lower viewing across the board, was dominated by Seven, according to preliminary OzTam data.
But Ten saw real problems, with Guerilla Gardeners in the 8pm slot taking an audience of only 685,000 viewers. This was exacerbated by the ABC’s strong line-up of The New Inventors, Spicks And Specks and Chandon Pictures.
The Biggest Loser took an estimated audience of just 1m. However, Ten said that the show won its slot among the network’s key, younger, demographic, including 16-39, where it took a 37.8% share.
Meanwhile Nine’s A Current Affair went to town on the show, digging up previous competitors who had failed to keep the weight off.
The night’s share: Seven 30.7%; Nine 26.9%; Ten 20.7%; ABC 16.8%; SBS 5%

The Biggest Loser 2009 has turned into the biggest crap show after voting off Andrew Miles and leaving an alliance which has no personality and little to offer the viewing public. Apart from Andrew _Nathan and Bob were great to watch but we now only have snippets from Bob and Nathan, who are both characters, working with the Commander. I applaud the fact a woman may win The Biggest Loser for the first time but it should be earned by the biggest weight loss not in an alliance of competitors devoid of personality and offering very little in gamemanship and strategy to the viewing public.
Forget the rubbish Channel Ten and serve up a decent show as The Biggest Loser is generally a winner. Sadly I stopped watching when Andrew made his exit. I siad that the remaining competitors would never entertain me. Plenty of my friends and family also turned off Channel Ten to watch other programs.
They also loved Nathan as his personality and strategy made the program. When Nathan was voted out the show went down the toilet.
