Brand design agency Blue Marlin has appointed Lynette Sturits as group account director and Dinah Thomasset as senior account director.

Thea announcement:

Blue Marlin is pleased to announce two key staff appointments, with the arrival of Lynette Sturits as new group account director and Dinah Thomasset as senior account director. Joining the Sydney-based team, Sturits brings 14 years of account directing and marketing experience to Blue Marlin, having worked in similar leadership roles at agencies including Brave, Belgiovane Williams Mackay, Droga5, Spin Communications and Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney.

Her key responsibilities include overseeing Blue Marlin’s roster of client accounts, along with heading up client services, with a focus on ensuring Blue Marlin’s globally recognised customer experience offering is fully implemented in Sydney.

Commenting on her appointment, Sturits is excited to join the management team. “The agency is extremely switched on and focused on future business development,” she says

“The high standard of work coming out of the agency is what attracted me to the role, along with its innovative culture. The management team is focused on its people and has the right balance of entrepreneurial vision and strong process to ensure target outcomes are achieved.”

As new senior account director, Thomasset also brings with her a wealth of industry knowledge. She comes direct from Europe with six years of marketing and communications experience, mainly acquired at The Brand Union, London, and Danone, based in Lyon, France.

“I am now pursuing the next step in my career,” explains Thomasset, of her move to Sydney shores. “Blue Marlin shares my same vision and passion for exemplary design and branding and the agency ticked all the boxes. I look forward to developing relationships with new and existing clients.”

Blue Marlin managing director Marshall Ward adds: “We are extremely pleased to be attracting talent of Lynette and Dinah’s calibre. This reflects the big strides forward the agency made in 2010, as well as our on-going commitment to invest in our people and our clients’ business to drive forward in 2011.”

Blue Marlin enjoyed a successful 2010 — despite last year’s economic downturn — with new client wins that included adding Weight Watchers, Alberto Culver and Lion Nathan to its roster.

The brand agency also expanded into South East Asia, with the opening of a new Singapore based office.
