BMF digital chief leaves after less than a year to head to Mark
Mark, the M&C Saatchi-owned DM and digital agency, has appointed BMF digital chief Simon McMaster to the new role of head of digital.
McMaster joined BMF as general manager of digital. He came from Tequila in London where he was director of digital.
BMF had drafted McMaster in May last year but was forced to wait more than six months before he could join while he worked out his notice.
In his new role at Mark, effective January next year, McMaster will lead a team of 40 people in the digital studio.
M&C Saatchi launched Mark in Sydney in early 2007 and opened a Melbourne office in June this year with ANZ and Ford as its foundation clients.
Mark provides direct, digital and data services to all of M&C Saatchi’s clients and also works with other clients directly.
BMF was not available for comment at the time this story was posted.
In May, the agency’s digital creative director Chris James left to pursue other ventures.
UPDATE: BMF has appointed digital planning director Aaron Michie to the agency Board. Chief executive Matthew Melhuish said it would not look to bring in a direct replacement for McMaster, as Michie would now also be charged with leading its digital strategy.
