Dr Mumbo is of course a big fan of trade body Publishers Australia’s website, and indeed the organisation’s boss Alan Sarkissian.
So imagine the treat in store now the site has published a hard-hitting interview with him.
And while it’s full of tough questions like: “The association has been on a major upward curve recently. What do you see as your greatest achievement so far?”, there is another highlight.
The tough one is this: “You’ve slimmed down quite a bit over the past six months. What’s your secret?”

While our CEO has trimmed down dramatically this year, the membership of Publishers Australia (representing targeted, specialist magazine and digital publishers) continues to grow in 2009. The Board have approved 3 new members in the last week in fact, with one being listed international mining industry publisher, Aspermont.
Our AGM is coming up on September 24th and we have 8 nominees for 4 vacant Board positions (including CEOs from Haymarket Media and Aspermont), and our coming Excellence Awards – Bell 09 has had to be moved to a larger venue to cater for our growth.
So while our CEO trims down, Publishers Australia is well and truly in expansion mode!
