Bounce Creative gives away $200K of media for community messages

Sydney agency Bounce Creative giving away 20 spots on Ooh Media outdoor inventory worth $200,000 to the general public.

Bounce Creative head Joel Chapman said of the campaign: “As an agency, we believe that the best conversations are often centred around people, not brands. And in what has obviously been a turbulent year, we thought, why not put our money where our mouths are and give advertising spaces back to people within the community.”

The campaign titled #AdsForThePeople will use submissions via an Instagram post to decide what goes on the inventory.

Chapman said: “When you work in advertising it’s easy to get caught up in our own world and assume that everyone else is eagerly awaiting the next big campaign launch from their favourite brands. But the reality is, outside of the industry, it’s a lot harder to cut through the noise.”

Chapman added it would be “more fun to see a baby gender reveal, someone looking for their lost cat, or a shout out to the local kebab shop on a massive side of the road billboard, rather than another car ad”.

The competition is currently open, and the billboards will be updated in real time throughout mid January when the campaign wraps up.
