Zootopia tops weekend box office as Sacha Baron Cohen’s Grimsby falls to sixth place

Disney’s animated film Zootopia debuted at the top of the weekend box office, pulling in $4.237m across 479 screens.

The kids movie, which features the voice talents of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, has made a total of $4.786m since premiering on Thursday.

Gerard Butler’s London Has Fallen claimed second spot on the weekend box office rankings despite pulling in $2m less than Zootopia.

The action film, which also stars Aaron Eckhart, pulled in $2.171m across 218 screens on its opening weekend.

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool fell to third place after taking in $1.011m across 306 screens, taking its total local box office to $41.224m.

The Lady In The Van and 10 Cloverfield Lane pushed Sacha Baron Cohen’s Grimsby into sixth place. Maggie Smith’s The Lady In The Van made $972,879 across 305 screens while 10 Cloverfield Lane pulled in $833,665 across 232 screens.

Grimsby made $757,301 across 324 screens over the weekend to take its total box office to $2.964m.
