Brand management platform Outfit appoints Andy Fitzsimon as VP of strategy

Brand management platform, Outfit, has hired Andy Fitzsimon as VP of strategy.

The announcement:

Outfit welcomes Andy Fitzsimon

Today brand management platform Outfit bolsters its senior ranks with the addition of former Global Regions’ Lead Brand Manager at Red Hat, Andy Fitzsimon.

Outfit Founder Bruce Stronge first met Andy when he was Red Hat’s APAC Brand Manager and needed a solution for scaling his brand’s communication design during a phase of rapid growth. The technology giant came on board as the startup’s first client and the two have remained in touch benchmarking trends in each other’s business.

Andy Fitzsimon, who joins as VP of Strategy and Innovation said: “I could have remained at an amazing enterprise company, one of the Forbes top-ranked employers. But there are not many occasions when you encounter a truly transformative idea so close to your heart. I felt the value of Outfit first-hand as a customer. I want to share that experience while unlocking an even greater potential.”

The hire follows on from the platform raising almost $20m back in February. Fitzsimon’s new role will focus on emerging technologies and a portfolio of new tools. He was most recently behind the strategy and execution at the world’s leading provider of open source software solutions, Red Hat, in the APAC Office of Technology.

Bruce Stronge, Outfit CEO, said: “To have a mind like Andy’s added to the team is massive. He has always been one of our biggest advocates and now we’ll be turning his aptitude for problem-solving to the benefit of our emerging sector. Expect big things before the year is done. We’re still at the beginning of our journey of changing how companies automate on-brand creative production at scale. We’re a tech company first and Andy’s pedigree will only strengthen our proposition.”

Fitzsimon added: “Brand managers, in particular, can often be seen as distant critics within their business. Time in lockdown with my young family reminded me of a monologue from the film Ratatouille: ‘… there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defence of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends’. I am very much a friend of the new approach Outfit represents. I am a friend to those who decide to transform traditional roles with new technology. Together with friends, we stand at the vanguard of a design automation revolution”.
