Brisbane radio ratings: ARN’s 97.3 breakfast show takes top spot, with Triple M falling further

Australian Radio Network’s Bianca, Terry and Bob on 97.3FM have won the breakfast battle in Brisbane, with an audience share of 12.8%, taking over rivals Nova who won the previous survey, and increasing the lead over Triple M’s team of Greg Martin, Ed Kavalee and former 97.3 breakfast announcer Robin Bailey.

Overall, Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 FM continued to dominate the Brisbane market despite audience share point drops across the board. Despite a 3.1 ratings point drop for Kate, Tim and Marty’s drive-time show, the team still remained in the top spot with an 18.6% audience share.

The trio remained strong against the dwindling Hamish and Andy’s drive show on Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit 105, which dropped a further 0.4 ratings point and now ranks in third place behind 97.3FM’s drive show with Hughesy and Kate.

Bianca, Terry and Bob rose from 10.6% to 12.8%, a 2.2 point increase which saw them nab the top breakfast spot for 97.3FM from Nova’s Ash Bradman, Kip Wightman and David Lutteral, who were the previous rating’s winners.

Triple M’s show of Greg Martin, Ed Kavalee and former 97.3 breakfast announcer Robin Bailey dropped a further 0.8 points after last survey’s 1.4 point decline.

Overall, 97.3FM’s success continued with a second place ranking and a 12.5% share of the total audience, 1.2 points up on the last radio ratings.

HIT 105 came in third place overall with a 0.4 increase up to 11.4%. Meanwhile, Triple M dropped 0.3 points but held on to its fourth spot with an overall share of 9.9%.

Over on the AM dial, meanwhile, ABC Brisbane dropped 1.2 points in breakfast to finish with a 10.9% share in the slot, ahead of 4KQ, which was up 1.4 points to 7.2%.

Overall ABC Brisbane won the AM battle with a share of 8.5%, ahead of the 4KQ with 7.4%. Macquarie Radio’s Talking Lifestyle 882 finished yet again with the lowest share of any station, down 0.2 points to 1.2%.
