Broadsheet partners with Dan Murphy’s to release Christmas hamper

Broadsheet Media has announced a partnership with Dan Murphy’s to produce a Christmas hamper, with spirits and gourmet food.

The announcement:

National city-guide publisher Broadsheet has teamed up with Dan Murphy’s to arm readers and Dan Murphy’s members with inspiration, recipes and drink ideas to celebrate the holiday season in style.

The unique partnership sees Broadsheet collaborate with Dan Murphy’s on a Christmas-inspired series of recipes, videos, drink ideas and more, as well as an exclusive, hand-picked box of celebratory goodies for people to purchase – or send as a gift – bringing a piece of Broadsheet into homes across the country.

The aptly-named collaboration – A Very Broadsheet Christmas Box with Dan Murphy’s – has all the things you need in one box to get the season’s celebrations started.

It’ll be available to purchase on Broadsheet’s online store starting November 23, but members of Dan Murphy’s My Dan’s membership club get first dibs on November 22 with an exclusive 24-hour pre-sale window. The box is priced at $150 including shipping with nationwide delivery available.

The hamper includes a 700-millilitre bottle of The Melbourne Gin Company’s Dry Gin, as well as a fourpack of 120-millilitre cans of Curatif’s Archie Rose Espresso Martini. The drinks come with a treasure trove of foods and snacks from some of Australia’s best producers, including St Ali’s Orthodox espresso blend, peanut butter from Ides, smoked almonds from Meatsmith, Hey Tiger chocolates and Olsson’s sea salt. Also included: two new-release Frank Green Celebration cups, a custom Broadsheet calico ham bag and The Broadsheet Italian Cookbook (packed with recipes, history, dinner ideas and more).

Sarah Tencer, marketing manager of brand and discovery for Dan Murphy’s, says the partnership makes perfect sense: “When it comes to the perfect curated Christmas box, you can’t get much better than a collaborative partnership from Dan Murphy’s and Broadsheet. Broadsheet gets culture and food, and we get drinks and the customer. So I’m particularly excited about the box with this partnership, because it’s a perfect example of how we can take the stress out of Christmas for customers this year.”

Simone Crick, director of Broadsheet’s award-winning studio team, says she’s excited to launch this partnership that’s designed for both Broadsheet readers and My Dan’s members: “This partnership has allowed us to transform our signature curation of the city’s best to a physical product, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for both the Broadsheet audience and Dan Murphy’s members. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Dan Murphy’s on this incredibly exciting campaign and are proud to be involved in branded-content campaigns that go above and beyond the services of a typical publisher.”

As part of the collaboration, Broadsheet will produce exclusive written and video content for both Broadsheet’s and Dan Murphy’s channels. The content will arm readers and customers with cocktail recipes, pairing tips, and food and drink inspiration, along with insights from industry leaders about how to navigate celebrations during this unique holiday season.

Marcus Morris, Team Dan Murphy’s client lead at Dentsu, says the partnership neatly complements Dan Murphy’s own Holidays Handled campaign: “We know this year consumers are longing for simple solutions to allow them to focus on spending time with loved ones. We wanted to alleviate some of the heavy lifting for them – rather than just saying it this year, we also wanted to do something. So, we partnered with the ultimate curator of culture, Broadsheet, to provide everything they need to know for the festive season.”
