Broken Hill’s new brand mixes mining heritage with film

broken_hill_studios_logoBroken Hill has revealed a new brand to promote its studio facilities which acknowledge the remote NSW city’s mining heritage.

It features a miner’s helmet combined a film projector.

Broken Hill saw a $1m investment from the NSW Government in creating studio facilities. Max Max 4 had been due to be the first major production to use the facilities but wet weather delayed shooting because new growth removed the area’s apocalyptic backdrop.

Against the backdrop of a soaring dollar, production was then moved offshore, reportedly to Namibia.
