Broken Hill’s new brand mixes mining heritage with film
Broken Hill has revealed a new brand to promote its studio facilities which acknowledge the remote NSW city’s mining heritage.
It features a miner’s helmet combined a film projector.
Broken Hill saw a $1m investment from the NSW Government in creating studio facilities. Max Max 4 had been due to be the first major production to use the facilities but wet weather delayed shooting because new growth removed the area’s apocalyptic backdrop.
Against the backdrop of a soaring dollar, production was then moved offshore, reportedly to Namibia.
The logo was created by Sydney company Frost Design.
Previous Broken Hill productions have included wake Up In Fright, Mad Max 2 and parts of Mission Impossible 2.
