Bruce McWilliam announces resignation from Seven West Media
Seven West Media (SWM) has announced the resignation of its commercial director, Bruce McWilliam.
McWilliam first joined SWM in 2003 in the same role, having previously worked as director at BSkyB, executive director of news international television and general counsel of News International PLC.
SWM chairman Kerry Stokes AC thanked McWilliam for his contributions on Thursday, crediting him for being involved in all of the group’s major corporate initiatives.
“I thank Bruce for his significant contribution to Seven West Media and Seven Group Holdings and wish him and Nicky all the best in the future,” Stokes said.
SWM managing director and CEO, James Warburton, added: “Bruce is a doyen of the media industry and has been a fundamental part of all the corporate moves at Seven for more than two decades.
“Working with Bruce has always been very rewarding and entertaining, and he is always extremely generous with his time and advice. Everyone at Seven will miss his wise counsel, guidance, knowledge and sense of humour, and we all wish him the very best for what lies ahead.”
McWilliam said he has enjoyed his 21-year stint with SWM and is “honoured” to have been a part of its growth and success over the years.
“Working with Kerry Stokes and James Warburton in his two iterations at Seven has never been dull,” McWilliam said.
“I’m very proud of my association with Seven and the Seven team, and I wish them every success in the years ahead. Moving forward, I’ll be focused on my corporate and media advisory and property interests.”
SWM is yet to provide an update on the commercial director position.
