Bulldogs’ fairytale win delivers more than three million viewers for Seven
The fairytale finish to the 2016 AFL Grand Final for the Western Bulldogs also proved a fairytale finish for the Seven Network after more than three million viewers tuned in to make the clash with the Sydney Swans the most watched Grand Final in a decade.
Delivering the match its highest audience since 2006, a total of 3.039m watched the thrilling contest that see-sawed throughout before the Bulldogs finally took control late in the final term.
The broadcast added a further 81,000 viewers for the emotional post match presentations.
Seven’s broadcast dominated the day, with not a single AFL-related session drawing an audience of fewer than 1m.
