Bullfrog to support female-led startups with pro-bono residency program

Independent creative agency, Bullfrog, has created a six-month residency program for start-ups lead by women and non-binary people.

Titled ‘Fair Advantage’, the pro-bono program has been designed to give female-owned startups a head start in the world of business, acknowledging that female-led start ups received only 2.3% of venture capital funding in 2020 according to data from UN Women.

Bullfrog’s Fair Advantage initiative aims to help women and non-binary people overcome some of the barriers they may face in progressing their business, with each residency offering 24 hour access to a co-working space at Bullfrog’s Cremorne headquarters, which features the usual office amenities as well as an onsite production studio, including photography cyclorama, edit suites and VO/podcast room.

Th residency will also include $25,000 worth of brand services delivered by Bullfrog, from brand strategy and audience development, to branding and advertising, PR, user experience, design and production..

Bullfrog has been intentional in aligning Fair Advantage to the 2023 UN International Women’s Day theme, ‘Cracking the Code: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future’.

“This year’s IWD theme is all about innovation driving disruption,” said Matilda Hobba, Bullfrog managing director, “and the best path to a version of innovation that represents a diverse and inclusive population of people, is to invite a diverse range of voices, values and experiences to the table – whilst removing some of the many roadblocks standing in the way”.

Hobba was appointed as the agency’s first managing director last month, shortly after the addition of Elle Bullen and Dan Sparkes as executive creative directors in December.

Dalton Henshaw, Bullfrog CEO and founder, added: “While we’re not a venture capital fund, we are a creative business who knows what it takes to build something great from the ground up – both for our partners and our own brands. So we want to invest in women entrepreneurs by sharing the resources that we’re privileged to have at our disposal, including not only our talented team and HQ facilities, but our expansive network of business connections, which we know can be vital in the early start-up stage.”

Applications for the program will open soon.
