Bunnings crowned as Australia’s most trusted brand for fourth time in a row

Bunnings has been named the most trusted brand in Australia, according to Roy Morgan.

The accomplishment sees Bunnings take the most trusted brand title for another quarter, after being given the title in September for the third time.

The other brands filling the top five spots include: supermarket Aldi in second place; retailer Kmart at number three; automotive giant Toyota at number four, and Apple in fifth place.

The research company’s data also found movements within the overall 10 most trusted brands list. Big W and NRMA both moved up one spot, placing them at number seven and eight, respectively. Meanwhile, retail titan Myer fell down two spots to number nine.

Electronics brand Samsung rounded out the list at number 10.

“Bunnings has built on a successful year by topping the rankings as Australia’s most trusted brand for a fourth straight quarter,” said Roy morgan’s chief executive officer, Michele Levine.

“The top six was remarkably stable in the latest results, with Aldi, Kmart, Toyota, Apple, and Australia Post all unchanged and filling out the top six positions as trusted brands.

“A year ago, Bunnings was ranked as Australia’s second most trusted brand – splitting the two major supermarkets Woolworths (first) and Coles (third) on the podium.

“Since then, the two supermarkets have fallen away significantly and are now ranked within the three most distrusted brands – just behind Optus – Australia’s most distrusted brand for a sixth consecutive quarter.”

Levine’s comments touch upon the top 10 most distrusted brands in the country.

Telecommunications organisation, Optus – whose headline-inducing outage and subsequent communication strategy caused the telco to be blasted in a Senate Comittee in late September – topped the list for the third quarter in a row.

Woolworths moved up three spots to become the second most distrusted brand in Australia, followed by competitor Coles who rose one place to sit in third place.

Airline Qantas was named as Australia’s fourth least credible brand, while Facebook and Meta dropped two places to number five. The sixth to tenth most distrusted brands, in their respective orders, include: Telstra, News Corp, Temu, X (formerly known as Twitter), and TikTok.
