Bupa promotes Jane Power as new CMO to replace John Moore

Australia’s largest health insurer Bupa has completed a frantic couple of weeks in its marketing division with the announcement of its new CMO, Jane Power.

Power will take over from current CMO John Moore who is moving to the UK to take on a role developing the company’s digital-first strategy.

The move is an internal promotion for Power, who is currently director of brand and health care marketing at Bupa ANZ.

In her role she has overseen the brand strategy for the business and worked closely with Moore as well as being the key global brand lead.

She joined the company in 2013 after working with Suncorp Group and, prior to that, MLC.

Power said the move to the new role was the result of working with a large team to bring a change to the health of its customers.

“As a marketing group we have worked very hard over the past few years to reposition Bupa as a broad health and care company,” Power said.

“We know those efforts are making a real difference to the way our customers feel about the brand as a whole. For that reason our marketing activity will continue to focus on making that real difference in health and care, particularly delivering on the experiences that are important to our customers and people.”

The appointment of Power caps a busy two weeks at Bupa after the announcement of Moore’s promotion.

The news was followed by the appointment of AJF Partnership and Mindshare to its combined media and creative account.

The agency review comes as the brand shifts to a people-focused strategy, which Moore said had been the major part of his work over the past three years.
