BuzzFeed locks in Tasty licensing agencies globally

BuzzFeed has locked in Haven as its Australian licensing agency for Tasty kitchenware, publishing and food consumer products.

The announcement:

Following the successful launch of BuzzFeed’s first-ever line of Tasty cookware at Walmart in the United States, BuzzFeed Commerce has nominated a global network of licensing agents to take Tasty kitchenware, publishing and food consumer products around the world.

Today BuzzFeed announces partnerships with Licensing Matters for EMEA; Haven for Australia and NZ;  La Panadería for Mexico; Lotus Global Latam for Spanish-speaking Latin America; and Lotus Global Brasil for Brasil, with more partners in Asia to be announced later in the year. All agencies will exclusively represent the Tasty brand for all product categories.

“We have squillions Tasty fans around the world who’ve been asking how they can buy Tasty kitchenware, cookbooks and foods,” said Eric Karp, Head of Global Licensing for BuzzFeed. “This new global infrastructure allows us to replicate what we’ve done with Tasty in North America, expanding the brand far beyond social media feeds and bringing it into people’s homes with products they’ll love.”

Tasty reaches nearly 540 million people globally and can be viewed across social platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat; through Tasty.co and the Tasty app; through its New York Times-bestselling cookbooks and the Tasty One Top, a smart induction cooktop that is integrated with the Tasty app.  The growing Tasty portfolio includes additional brands Proper Tasty, Tasty Demais, Tasty Miam, Einfach Tasty, Tasty Japan, Bien Tasty, Tasty Vegetarian, Tasty Grill, and Tasty Jr.

BuzzFeed Commerce was created in October 2016 and is tasked with creating physical products and social commerce experiences, as well as extending BuzzFeed’s IP to licensing partners including its New York Times-bestselling Tasty cookbooks with Penguin Random House and range of Tasty kitchenware that is exclusively available at Walmart.  BuzzFeed Commerce hones in on the opportunity to create commerce driven by sharing and human connections, utilizing social media to lead the shift in the commerce space.
