Call for entries: ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards

Entries are now open for the 2012 ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards, recognising individuals, channels and agencies in the promotion of the subscription television industry.

The announcement:

Entries Open for the 2012 ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards
Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA), the subscription TV (STV) industry’s peak body, has opened entries to its 2012 ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards.
The awards, to be presented at the ASTRA Conference on Thursday March 22 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, will recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals, channels and agencies in the promotion of the STV industry over 9 distinct categories.

All award submissions must be received by 4PM on Friday, 16 December 2011.
Petra Buchanan, CEO of ASTRA said, “The continued growth of subscription TV in Australia is, in no small way, propelled by the contributions of the talented marketing and communications professionals working in the industry. These awards provide recognition of the hard work and innovative thinking that have helped deliver our messages and information to all Australians.”
The 2012 ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards categories are:

  • Most Outstanding Marketing Campaign for Subscription Sales or Subscriber Retention/Extension
  • Most Outstanding Use of Subscription Television for a Consumer Advertising Campaign
  • Most Outstanding On-Air Program Promotion
  • Most Outstanding Off-Air Program Promotion
  • Most Outstanding Channel Image Spot
  • Most Outstanding Multimedia Promotion
  • Most Outstanding PR/Communications Campaign
  • Most Outstanding Marketing Campaign Under $50,000
  • Most Outstanding Use of Technology

The ASTRA Industry Excellence Awards are judged by a panel of senior STV marketing specialists.
Judges review each entry and assess its merits based on the strength of the campaign strategy, implementation, results and creativity.
Last year’s winners include The LifeStyle Channel, AUSTAR, Channel V, FOXTEL, FOX8, The Weather Channel and Cartoon Network.
The 2012 Conference will highlight opinion from leaders across the industry, allow for discussion and debate through a combination of panel discussions and break-out sessions and provide networking opportunities at the Women in Television breakfast, lunch and cocktail functions.
