Camp Quality asks men to ‘Bro Up’ and volunteer in new campaign push

Camp Quality has launched a campaign asking men to ‘Bro Up’ and volunteer at camps to put a smile on  sick kids’ faces after discovering over 50% of campers were boys, but only 30% of volunteers were male.

The campaign includes male influencers such as comedian Rove McManus, Bachelorette winners Lee Elliott and Sasha Mielczarek, and Olympian Nathan Katz.

‘Bro Up’ was launched to combat the gender imbalance in volunteers at Camp Quality and celebrate the existing volunteers.

Since the campaign launched earlier this month as part of Volunteer Week, 388 men and 16 women have decided to ‘Bro Up’.

Elliot registered for a July camp with new buddy Milan, who was diagnosed with leukaemia at three years’ old, and said he was honoured to help the campaign.

“I’m so excited to be going on my first Junior Camp with Milan in July in the hope of putting smiles on the faces of kids who are going through far more than I could ever imagine,” Elliot said in a statement.
