Canstar launches is first above-the-line campaign in 25 years

Financial comparison site Canstar has launched its first TV commercial in 25 years featuring new brand ambassador, celebrity food critic and Masterchef judge Matt Preston.

Created by Noisy Beast, the 30 second campaign uses apples to differentiate between “comparisons and Canstar comparisons”.

Sara Tweedly, Canstar’s group executive, said: “The creative is relatively simple and uses expert food reviewer, Matt Preston from Masterchef Australia to highlight the ease and benefit of using Canstar’s expert value based ratings to help consumers compare their home loan, insurance, superannuation and much more.

“Whilst we have been around for 25 years, this is Canstar’s first above-the-line advertising campaign.

“Through consumer research, we know that 60% of Australian adults recognise our logo, but we wanted to make sure that they knew we weren’t only a well know research agency,” she said.

Tweedly said the decision to recruit Preston was based on the similarities between his own food reviews and the importance of presentation and how Canstar rates products based on price and features.
