Perth radio ratings: Nova surge in breakfast and drive, but not enough to unseat Mix

Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix 94.5 in Perth has managed to hold on to its top spot in the radio ratings despite a surge by Nova 93.7 in breakfast and drive which saw it victorious in the two crucial time slots.

Nova’s breakfast team of Nathan, Nat & Shaun took the win from Mix’s Clairsy, Matt & Kymba with a jump of 1.8 points to climb to the top with a share of 14%.

The Mix trio dropped 0.9 points to surrender the lead with its share falling to 13.8%, while Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Will, Woody added to their audience, rising 1.1 points 11.4%.

The battle between the Nova and Mix was tighter in drive, with Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold – who smashed the ratings in Brisbane – narrowly grabbing the top spot from Lisa and Pete.

Nova’s syndicated show lifted 1.7 points to a share of 15.2%, just ahead of Mix, which dropped 0.9 points to 15.1%.

Hit’s Hamish and Andy held third place with a lift of 0.5 points to 13.1%.

Despite losing the lead in two key time slots, Mix managed to hold on to the overall lead with strong performances in the morning and afternoon slots.

Overall Mix managed to rise 0.2 points to 14.7%, holding a full point lead over Nova which was up 1.9 points to 13.7%.

Hit 92.9 saw an overall lift of 0.2 points to 11% while, 96FM dropped 0.2 points to 8.9%.

ABC Perth dropped 1.6 points to 7.8%  but remained the dominant AM station ahead of 6PR which dropped 0.3 points to 6.6%.
