Carat Brisbane anounces new head of client partnerships

Dentsu Queensland has hired Emily Cook as head of client partnerships for Carat Brisbane, a role that will see the Queensland native return home after years spent working in Sydney and Melbourne.

Cook served as the media lead for the Vodafone account at Wavemaker Sydney for the past three years, and was previously client lead on the Group M agency’s Nestlé account.

She also spent time at MediaCom and Media Merchants in Brisbane, working across senior buying and planning, as well as content roles. Mumbrella understands that Cook’s role will be replaced shortly.

Dentsu Queensland managing director, Chris Ernst, said: “We are thrilled to have Emily joining the team at Carat and Dentsu Queensland.

“Not only is she a Queensland native returning home, she returns with an incredible reputation for client and people leadership and a passion for our industry which will fit right in with our culture and values.”

Cook has also been the Sydney committee chair of the Media Federation Australia Five Plus (MFA5+) since 2020, over that time working to take the large MFA5+ inspiration series of events online, and establishing the national MFA5+ Connect Series.

She has also worked on supporting and mentoring across the NGEN online events and presentations to university students.

Of her new role, Cook said: “I am so excited to be heading home to Queensland. I love the people-focus and strong relationship-based industry that the Brisbane media market has, and I’m so delighted with the opportunity to work with Chris and the Dentsu Queensland Carat team.

“I have so much energy and enthusiasm for this industry and I can’t wait to work alongside current and new clients in this role.”

Mumbrella has requested comment from Wavemaker on Cook’s replacement.
