Carat promotes Danni Wright to national head of strategy
Carat Sydney’s head of strategy, Danni Wright, has been promoted to take on the role on a national scale.
She will join the national executive leadership team and head up Carat’s team of strategists across the country.
Carat said she would be charged with delivering “against Carat’s proposition of understanding and activating real people to redefine media”.
Simon James-Williams, who was recently promoted to national managing director of the Denstu Aegis Network agency, was full of praise for Wright.
“Danni is an incredible talent with a proven track record of exceeding client expectations through her bravery and pursuit of how psychology and behavioural economics can help solve communications challenges,” he said.
“Her passion for our industry is infectious and she pours her whole self into every challenge, always looking for new, different and better ways to solve the problem.”
Wright is now the most senior strategy talent at Carat, with Williams saying he is excited to see her “redefine the boundaries for media-led communications strategy.”
Wright said her decade with Carat thus far has been a journey, and she is excited for what was next.
“Carat has taken me on quite a journey over the past 10 years and I’m thrilled to be continuing this as a strategic lead in Australia,” she said.
“It’s a privileged position to be in, particularly given the calibre of talent that I get to work with in the Carat team and across our network. I’m super excited.”
Carat has had a slew of personnel changes of late, with CEO Paul Brooks departing in September.
Brooks – who has since been appointed director of sales for Nine in Sydney – was indirectly replaced by Williams, who became national managing director.
The CMO of the agency, Andrea Rule, also departed in February to become head of enterprise sales at LinkedIn.
Carat has also recently brought across OMD Melbourne’s Alex Smith as client lead, and this morning announced Dick Laurie would become strategy director for Perth.
I don’t know Danni at all but congrats anyway. Carat is a good business so you must know your stuff. Does she have any formal education in behavioural economics? This is a seriously challenging area of skill based on many years of study and practice and such should not be stated lightly in a press release as our industry tends to do. Sorry if you have a Masters in this field Danni:)
