Carrie Bickmore, Tommy Little and Gemma Fordham of SCA’s Hit Network join Mumbrella Audioland

Southern Cross Austereo’s Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, hosts of the ‘Carrie and Tommy’ drive radio show on the Hit Network, together with network head Gemma Fordham, have joined the lineup of speakers for Mumbrella Audioland 2020.

In their session ‘Louder in Lockdown’, the trio will discuss the challenges and triumphs of connecting with Australian radio audiences during the coronavirus lockdown.

Carrie and Tommy – who also appear on Ten’s The Project – have hosted their early drive program since 2017 when their one-hour show initially led into Hamish and Andy.

Bickmore has over two decades experience in radio, spending much of that time as a newsreader and journalist, while Hit drive is Little’s first full-time radio gig.

Since 2018 they’ve been heard from 3pm – 4.30 pm on weekdays, after SCA decided to broadcast two offerings nationally during drive. They are now followed by the Hughesy and Ed show with Dave Hughes and Ed Kavalee.

Gemma Fordham has served as head of the Hit Network since 2019, and was formerly the network’s head of content, as well as chief content officer at NZME in New Zealand. She got her first gig in radio as an EP at SCA in 1998.

The Audioland program also features senior vice president of commercial development at BBC Global News Alistair McEwan, founder of MusicBrief Matt Hayward, chief digital strategy officer at Group M Venessa Hunt, and chief sales officer at Southern Cross Austereo Brian Gallagher.

Mumbrella Audioland will take place online on October 13. Tickets are on sale now.
