Carsales appoints Alt/Shift to national PR account

Carsales has selected creative communications agency Alt/Shift to handle its national consumer public relations account.

The appointment is the first under new Carsales group marketing director, Priya Kanniappan, who was appointed in December last year following the departure of long-time Carsales CMO Kellie Cordner.

Kanniappan said: “With creative and strategic innovation a cornerstone of their agency, as well as our own business, Alt/Shift were a natural partner for us to help land our future positioning and build awareness of our growing pipeline of new products and services in market. We are excited to see what 2022 has in-store for our partnership.”

Andie Crawford, general manager Sydney at Alt/Shift added: “We’re delighted to have been appointed as the public relations agency for Carsales, already having commenced work across a number of exciting initiatives. To be collaborating with the best and brightest minds in the automotive business, is something we are looking forward to sinking our teeth into, creating truly impactful campaigns that resonate with Australian consumers.”

Carsales joins a Alt/Shift’s client portfolio alongside Officeworks, Placie, Deliveroo, Cashrewards and Metricon Homes, following the agency’s win of the new home company last month.

Alt/Shift has also welcomed two new staff members to its Sydney team, with Ella Reid joining as senior account manager and Olivia Sloan joining as account coordinator.

The growth of the Sydney team has also seen the promotion of Tessa Conboy who moves into the role of senior account director, and Charlie Kaplan who is stepping into the role of account manager.
