The announcement:

Entries are now open for the Australasian Catalogue Association’s (ACA) 25th annual awards night, recognising expertise and excellence in catalogue marketing. Attracting some of the industry’s most creative minds, 2015 hosted over 680 guests and in its 25th year, the Catalogue Awards are set to be bigger and better than ever.

The 2015 Catalogue Awards saw Whybin\TBWA crowned Agency of the Year for their outstanding work on revitalising the David Jones brand. Whybin\TBWA succeeded over stiff competition with finalists including Clemenger/BBDO for Myer, Generic Publications for Harvey Norman and Domayne, and RedJelly for Dan Murphy’s.

Taking home a $1000 Visa Gift Card, Best Young Designer was won by Joshua Wallace of Chemist Warehouse in their successful year. Finalists were Amanda Ellis of PFG Australia, Erin Wheeler of Generic Publications, Teya Evans of Ideaworks.

“Best Young Designer has been one of the fastest growing categories over the years and has become increasingly competitive. The 2015 Best Young Designer competition was incredibly close and we were extremely excited to see the changing trends in design and production all agencies and in-house teams have brought to their catalogues,” said ACA, Chief Executive Officer, Kellie Northwood.

Northwood outlined the annual awards provided an opportunity for retailers, marketers and creative designers to celebrate the innovation, diversity and success of catalogues.

“Catalogue marketing remains a highly effective media and the awards give agencies and retailers the opportunity to have their strategies, concepts, creative, design and styling recognised,” said Northwood.

The awards night will be held at Crown Palladium on Friday, 2nd September 2016, with Dave Thornton, previously a creative himself, returning as Master of Ceremonies.

Judging in Melbourne will take place from 14-17 June and in Sydney from 20-22 June. Award entries close on Wednesday, 1st June.
